MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

On behalf of the PORAC Legal Defense Fund Board of Trustees, it is my privilege to extend a warm welcome to each of you at this year’s PORAC Annual Conference. We are honored to be part of this important gathering of law enforcement professionals, legal experts, and association leaders from across the state.

This conference represents a vital opportunity for collaboration, reflection, and forward-thinking. It is a time to reaffirm our shared commitment to protecting those who serve, and to ensure that our members continue to receive the highest level of legal support and advocacy.

I would also like to take a moment to welcome our newest Trustees who joined the Board this year: Alisha Rosa, representing Region 4, and Eric Schmidt, appointed by PORAC. Their dedication and insight are already proving to be valuable assets to the Fund, and we are grateful for their service.

The Legal Defense Fund remains committed to protecting the rights and interests of our members. As we continue to navigate the evolving challenges of our profession, we are focused on continuing to provide exceptional services to our members.

PORAC LDF has paid over $15 million in benefits this year alone. This level of support underscores one of our core principles: no cap on benefits. We currently have 131 criminal cases pending, including 48 in California, and each case is being handled with the care, diligence, and expertise our members rely on. We remain committed to ensuring that every member receives the representation they need to resolve their case favorably.

As we look ahead, we recognize the importance of education, collaboration, and accessibility. We encourage you to visit the LDF booth during the conference, meet with our Trustees and staff, and learn more about the resources available to you and your association. Whether you are a long-standing member or newly enrolled, our team is here to support you.
